Emotional Intelligence

Emotional Intelligence

Teens, teenagers, Z generation, adolescents, children… This generation has many names but our favorite is how the Father calls them: the chosen ones. In this way, to keep preparing them to accomplish their purpose, the youngest disciples of our church attended this meeting to learn how to manage their emotions properly and also to value themselves according to God’s will, through a powerful intervention given by Carmen Mendoza, a christian educational psychologist.

In this afternoon, they understood that in order to be able to love others, they must learn first how to love themselves in God’s way. For that reason, Teenagers’ groups pastors prepared this activity and shared strategies about relating and living harmoniously with themselves and their loved ones.

As a result of understanding the difficulties teenagers face in their daily life, the Lord reminded them a verse the Apostle Paul wrote in order to strengthen their identity: “Let every man think soberly of himself, according to the measure of faith which God hath dealt to every man”.

This activity was aimed to make them understand the importance of seeing themselves as God does, setting boundaries and breaking the lies the enemy put in their hearts. They were encouraged to always remember that a healthy body is good but a healthy soul is fundamental to approach to God’s will.
